One Week Until Push Off
Howdy.
It’s been a busy few weeks since I announced this project. I’ve been on a few local Watertown news outlets, as well as NCPR to talk about the tour and why I’ve chosen to support Stage Notes. Talking about myself is tough, I get all anxious and lose my train of thought but these interviews have been good practice.
I’ve had some friends and family reach out to ask why I’m not taking the North Carolina coast, and the only reason I chose to go that way is because of the alternate route I am taking through South Carolina to avoid unfavorable road conditions. I’m leaning towards heading out to the coast from Mullins, SC and landing in Wilmington, NC a few days later. Coastal North Carolina is actually an alternate route for the East Coast Greenway, so it made sense when I re-routed through SC to meet back up with the ECG at Fayetteville and head up through the Raleigh/Durham area. If I decide to take the coast (it would be silly not to) I would meet up with the main route in Richmond, VA.
My twitter and Instagram have been slow leading up to the trip, but they will pick up once I’m on the road. If you’re looking for the pages they are both chrisonbiketour. For twitter I’ll be posting a daily quick log that includes starting location, mileage goal, mileage to date, and expected end location. I’ll update it at the end of the day. I figured that would be a quick, fun way for me to log my trip outside of my daily writing I’ll be doing in my notebook.
The support for the tour has been incredible so far. I never thought people would support what I’m doing so it feels good to know that people support Stage Notes and what I’m doing.
A big thank you to everyone who has donated before I’ve even landed in Key West. I’ve only had a few song suggestions though, so if you donate anything above the song suggestions don’t hesitate to suggest music!
I picked up a copy of Slaughterhouse Five today to read during the first leg of the trip. It’s a book I’ve wanted to read since I was in high school. No better time, I guess.
Be on the lookout for more updates as the launch date quickly arrives!
